Will the IPhone Drive iPorn?

When I first started Mobile Analyst Watch in the Summer of 2005, there was a lot of industry hype about the potential for mobile content and it seemed like everyone and their mother was testing different delivery models.

One area getting a big rise out of the industry and media was mobile porn. Over the years, analysts have readily added their $0.02 on the potential of watching the humping and pumping on the small screen here, here, here, here, here and here.

My question is why has all the industry prognostication and forecasts dried up now given that the iPhone (and iTouch) seem to be perfectly suited for adult content on the go with their large displays, generous amounts of storage and Wi-Fi connectivity?

There has been a lot of talk about how the iPhone has been a market driver for mobile browsing, but are customers using their carrier's EDGE networks or Wi-Fi more to get on the Net? I haven't seen any breakdowns but my bet is with Wi-Fi.

So is the market potential for mobile adult content improved with the iPhone, iTouch and other similar devices or will mobile porn just end up being a subset of the overall Internet porn market?
