Prepaid Cellphone Plans Now More Practical

The Hartford Courant looks at the growing market for prepaid cellular plans in the U.S. Roger Entner at Ovum said, "Just this year, six new plans came out that make prepaid a viable alternative for wireless communications."

According to Entner "the average cost of a traditional plan is about $60 a month, while average spending on prepaid plans - with fewer minutes used - is closer to $25." Since roughly a third of the minutes for monthly plan users go wasted, for some people a prepaid plan is a good alternative.
