More on the Deals BREWing at Qualcomm

Here's another article by NewsFactor Network on Qualcomm's most recent acquisition of Elata.According to Qualcomm, the Elata deal helps extend their BREW platform and offers "the ability to determine device compatibility for mobile applications being downloaded by users, including those in the BREW portfolio."

David Linsalata at IDC said, this "gives BREW a significant boost" and noted "Qualcomm is laying the groundwork for its future by purchasing companies like Elata and wireless-broadband provider Flarion."

"This is an opportunity for the company to improve its content delivery system and get GSM carriers more interested in that system," Linsalata said.
