Skype Signs First Mobile Network Partner

Computerworld reports that German mobile carrier E-Plus will begin to offer its flat rate data plan subscribers Skype software as part of the service bundle starting in October.

According to the article, "users will only be able to make VoIP calls via their computers, not handsets," and is aimed at business users with laptops. Although E-Plus claims the service will be comparable to VoIP over a wired connection, John Delaney at Ovum said, "I'd have thought the [quality of service] on the uplink would be dodgy."
