Jupiter: PSP Kinda Sorta Maybe Breaks Sales Records

Nate Elliott posts an interesting take on the Sony PSP's "record-breaking" launch this past weekend in the U.K. at the Jupiter Analyst Weblogs:

Isn't it cheating if your retailers have been taking pre-orders for the better part of a year because you've repeatedly pushed back your ship date? I mean, a PSP ordered last Christmas is presumably being counted towards first-week UK sales. Isn't that kind of absurd?
He makes a good point. We'll have to see if Sony can build on its "launch" as we hit the holiday season. More good games wouldn't hurt....
