Nokia Intros Trio of 3G Phones

Top Tech News reports that Nokia has unveiled three new UMTS-based 3G handsets - the Nokia 6282, 6233 and 6234. The article writes about the new handsets and notes the 6282 will be available in the U.S. in 2006, while noting Cingular's UTMS system is currently only available in about a half-dozen markets.

Forrester Research analyst Charles Golvin said, "It's still a limited market in the U.S., but Verizon and Sprint are having some success with their next-generation EVDO networks. There is a lot more demand now in Europe than in the U.S. Manufacturers need to synchronize handset releases with network launches."
